CMC News & AnnouncementsSeptember 18th, 2006 The National Auto Sport Association (NASA) and Camaro Mustang Challenge are please to announce a new sub-class within CMC called CMC-2 featuring cars like the LS1 powered Camaros along with the new body style Mustangs (2005 and newer). The new class was developed to allow these newer cars into the CMC series and keep up with the changing times. The cars will use a similar formula to the very successful CMC series with minor rule updates and higher horsepower limits. "I am very excited about this new series. It seems to have a lot of appealing qualities and I have no doubt it will be as successful as the current CMC class is and it will just add that many more cars to the show," said Jerry Kunzman, NASA Executive Director. Tony Guaglione, CMC's National Director added "We recognized for years that the newer cars needed to be added to the series, but we were waiting for the right time, and the right time is now. I decided to work with the directors of CMC and NASA to create this class within CMC. Having spent the past eight years running the CMC class, I have no doubt the CMC-2 class will take off with great success." The new class will be eligible for competition at NASA events coast to coast starting in the 2007 season. September 17th, 2006 Final CMC National Championship top ten results: 1.
